OISTAT Congress in Berlin

Reformed structures for the expansion of the network. 
About 50 people from 27 countries met in Berlin during the SHOW-TECH for the OISTAT Congress. Every four years, the President and the Board of Directors are newly elected and thematic priorities are discussed. This congress was marked by necessary structural changes. For the time being, the Dutch Ministry of Culture has cancelled its financial support, especially for the work of the General Secretariat. Intermediate solutions had to be developed for the administration, but also organisational perspectives. A first step towards an administration independent of external sources is the restructuring of the Executive Board, which has now been decided. A first step was to amend the statutes to reduce the size of the executive branch. Instead of 13, 8 countries are now represented. Moreover, no countries were chosen, but individuals who had previously imagined. Furthermore, the chairmen of the expert commissions now belong to the board. In this way, the exchange of content and organisational information is to be improved. Until a final solution is found for a new seat for the Secretariat, the members of the Board also share the administrative work.

Prof. Harald Reichelt, long-time OISTAT representative of the DTHG in the scenography commission, had organized an extensive congress program. In conjunction with ShowTech in Berlin, the DTHG together with the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen „Konrad Wolf“ – invited to a premiere: For two days, professionals from theatre, film, television and new media discussed with OISTAT guests the demands and challenges of new technical developments, but also the blurred boundaries between conventional genres and „genres“ and the creative imagination and craftsmanship of „scenographers“.

Reformierte Strukturen für den Ausbau des Netzwerks
Etwa 50 Personen aus 27 Ländern trafen sich in Berlin während der SHOW-TECH zum OISTAT-Kongress. Alle vier Jahre werden Präsident und Vorstand neu gewählt und thematische Schwerpunkte diskutiert. Dieser Kongress stand im Zeichen notwendiger struktureller Veränderungen. Das niederländische Kulturministerium hat vorerst seine finanzielle Unterstützung vor allem für die Arbeit des Generalsekretariats aufgekündigt. So mussten Zwischenlösungen für die Verwaltung, aber auch organisatorische Perspektiven erarbeitet werden. Ein erster Schritt in Richtung auf eine von äußeren Quellen unabhängige Verwaltung besteht in der Restrukturierung des Vorstandes, die jetzt beschlossen wurde. Ein erster Schritt bestand in einer Satzungsänderung zur Verkleinerung der Exekutive. Statt 13 sind nun 8 Länder vertreten. Zudem wurden keine Länder, sondern Individuen gewählt, die sich vorher vorgestellt hatten. Weiterhin gehören die Vorsitzenden der Fachkommissionen jetzt zum Vorstand. Auf diese Weise soll der inhaltliche und organisatorische Informationsaustausch verbessert werden. Bis zu einer endgültigen Lösung für einen neuen Sitz des Sekretariats teilen sich die Vorstandsmitglieder auch die administrative Arbeit.

Prof. Harald Reichelt, langjähriger OISTAT-Vertreter der DTHG in der Szenografiekommission, hatte ein umfangreiches Kongressprogramm organisiert. In Verbindung mit der ShowTech in Berlin hatte die DTHG gemeinsam mit der Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen „Konrad Wolf“ – zu einer Premiere geladen: Zwei Tage lang diskutierten Profis von Theater, Film, Fernsehen und neuen Medien mit den OISTAT-Gästen, welche Anforderungen und Herausforderungen neue technische Entwicklungen. aber auch die fließender gewordenen Grenzen zwischen herkömmlichen Genres und „Sparten“ an die gestalterische Fantasie und das handwerkliche Können von „Szenografen“ stellen.
