The professional association was still busy with the topics of the founding of an international organisation that had been dealt with in the previous year under review. In No. 1 of the BTR, Walter Unruh reports on a conference in Poland on the establishment of an international theatre technology company in conjunction with the International Theatre Institute, Paris (ITI).
Der Fachverband war noch mit den aus dem vorigen Berichtsjahr herüberreichenden Themen der Gründung einer Internationalen Organisation beschäftigt. So berichtet Walter Unruh in Heft 1 der BTR über eine Konferenz in Polen über die Gründung einer internationalen theatertechnischen Gesellschaft in Verbindung mit dem Internationalen Theater Institut, Paris (ITI).
This organization was to be called INTERSCENA, (International Institute for Scenography and Theatre Technology)* and is an autonomous association within the ITI based in Prague. Existing national associations are to become corporate members. The Articles of Association are to be adopted in June. The 1st Congress of the Association will be held in Prague in 1971 in conjunction with the Second Quadrennial (PQ).
Furthermore, the exchange of articles from trade journals was agreed. Helmut Großer was proposed as Interscena correspondent for the Federal Republic of Germany. This Polish meeting was the basis for further international work.
Diese Organisation sollte INTERSCENA, (Internationales Institut für Szenographie und Theatertechnik) heißen und ist eine autonome Vereinigung innerhalb des ITI mit dem Sitz in Prag. Bestehende nationale Verbände sollen korporative Mitglieder werden. Die Statuten sollen im Juni festgelegt werden. Der 1. Kongress der Vereinigung wird 1971 in Prag in Verbindung mit der zweiten Quadriennale (PQ) abgehalten werden.
Weiterhin wurde der Austausch von Artikeln aus den Fachzeitschriften vereinbart. Als Interscena – Korrespondent für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland wurde Helmut Großer vorgeschlagen. Dieses polnische Treffen war der Grundstock zur weiteren internationalen Arbeit.
In June, the announced meeting took place in Prague, at which the

Israel: Arnon Adar
USA: Joel E. Rubin and Gary Gaiser.
The Belgian Association was represented by an observer,
the Romanian Centre of the ITI by an observer;
the national associations of Great Britain and the USSR were absent and wished the participants of the Committee success.
Jean Darcante, Secretary General of the ITI, announced that the Scenographer and Technician Organisations of Argentina, France, Morocco and Japan intend to apply for membership. The organisation will unite not only stage designers and theatre technicians, but also theatre architects, theorists and historians. Its purpose is to promote and support the international exchange of all theatrical techniques, provided they are of an artistic nature and pursue artistic goals. The following Presidium has been elected:
President: Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Walther Unruh (FRG),
1st Vice President: Dr. JoeI E. Rubin (USA),
2nd Vice President: Dipl-Ing. Ferenc Vajda (Hungary).
The office of the Czechoslovak ITI Centre in Prague has been designated as the headquarters of the OSITT Office, with Ladislav Vychodil (CSSR) as provisional Secretary General.

Die Belgische Vereinigung war durch einen Beobachter, das rumänische Center des ITI durch eine Beobachterin vertreten; die nationalen Verbände Großbritanniens und der UdSSR waren abwesend und wünschten den Teilnehmern des Komitees Erfolg. Jean Darcante, Generalsekretär des ITI, teilte mit, dass die Szenographen- bzw. Technikerorganisationen von Argentinien, Frankreich, Marokko und Japan beabsichtigen sich um Beitritt zu bewerben. Die Organisation wird nicht nur Bühnenbildner und Theatertechniker, sondern auch Theaterarchitekten, Theoretiker und Historiker vereinigen. Sie hat den Zweck, den internationalen Austausch aller Techniken des Theaters, soweit sie künstlerischer Natur sind und künstlerische Ziele verfolgen, zu fördern und zu unterstützen. Folgendes Präsidium wurde gewählt:

2. Vizepräsident: Dipl-Ing. Ferenc Vajda (Ungarn).
Das Büro des Tschechoslowakischen Centers des ITI in Prag wurde zum Sitz des Büros OSITT bestimmt, vorläufiger Generalsekretär ist Ladislav Vychodil (CSSR).
