The cooperation with OISTAT, always an occasion for discussion and critical remarks, was put to a new test in 2014. After the elections of the executive board of OISTAT 2013, it had become necessary to question fundamental questions, such as the international status of the organisation, financial liability risks and international business conduct.

Experience has shown that this process is not so fast with large international associations and requires consistent inquiries, discussions and much more.
As a result, however, clarity was achieved on most points: OISTAT is regarded as a sub-organization of the International Theatre Institute as a non-governmental organization (NGO) recognised by UNESCO. In future, the annual report will be detailed and published.

For the DTHG, this means seeking coordination with the ITI Germany in the future, since the DTHG cannot delegate representatives to all commissions of the OISTAT.
In the course of this reorganization, it will also be important in future to question the future of the Prague Quadriennale. In 2014, the ITI had not submitted an application to finance a German contribution. As a result, the Association of Scenographers decided to develop its own contribution and urgently needed support for it. The DTHG was ready and arranged for the project to be shown in advance on the Stage|Set|Scenery before it went to Prague.

Die Zusammenarbeit mit der OISTAT, stets Anlass für Diskussionen und kritische Anmerkungen, wurde 2014 auf einen neuen Prüfstand gestellt. Nach den Wahlen des executive boards der OISTAT 2013 war es notwendig geworden, grundlegende Fragen, wie z.B. nach dem internationalen Status der Organisation, finanziellen Haftungsrisiken sowie internationalem Geschäftsgebaren zu hinterfragen.

Dieser Prozess geht erfahrungsgemäß bei großen internationalen Verbänden nicht so schnell und bedarf konsequenter Nachfragen, Diskussionen u.v.m.
Im Ergebnis jedoch wurde in den meisten Punkten Klarheit erreicht: Die OISTAT gilt als Unterorganisation des Internationalen Theaterinstitutes als durch die UNESCO anerkannte Nichtregierungsorganisation (NGO). Künftig wird der Geschäftsbericht detaillierter ausgeführt und veröffentlicht.

Für die DTHG bedeutet dies, künftig eine Abstimmung mit dem ITI Deutschland zu suchen, da durch die DTHG nicht in alle Kommissionen der OISTAT Beauftragte entsandt werden können.
Im Zuge dieser Neuorganisation wird es künftig auch wichtig sein, die Zukunft der Prager Quadriennale zu hinterfragen. 2014 war durch das ITI kein Antrag zur Finanzierung eines deutschen Beitrages gestellt worden. Daraufhin beschloss der Verband der Szenografen, einen eigenen Beitrag zu entwicklen und benötigte dafür dringend Unterstützung. Auch hier stand die DTHG bereit und erwirkte dafür, dass das Projekt vorab auf der Stage|Set|Scenery zu sehen sein sollte, bevor es nach Prag gehen wird.
